A contingent of archers from the club took a corner stand at the Flamborough RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institute) gala, to raise public interest in the sport and generate some funds. Four bosses were transported, along with an 'arrow catching' safety net. At £2.00 for 6 shots, under the supervision of an experienced archer, it proved popular with both young and old. The weather was perfect for the task until around 2:30pm when it began to rain, which more or less emptied the village green. After a couple of hours it fined up again and people re-emerged for a last look around the stands and stalls.
A very pleasant day was had (special thanks to Carole and her camping stove) and interest was expressed in club activities on a number of occasions. Hopefully one or two people will seek us out to shoot some more.
